Richard "Dick" H. Wood, Sr., 63, Stiles, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon, March 8, 2000, at home while working in the yard.

He was born April 23, 1936, in Manitowoc, to Leon and Edna (Elk) Wood. As a young man he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Dick lived in the Oconto Falls area for most of his life and was employed as a service manager at two car dealerships in Green Bay and Pulaski. He most recently worked as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Lena. As an avid Green Bay Packers fan, Dick handcrafted items with Packer themes from his workshop.

Survivors are his wife, Nancy; his children from a previous marriage, Rich (Debi) Wood II, Spruce; Dawn Wood, Oconto Falls; Dean (Lisa) Wood, Pound; Bob (Stacy) Wood, Burkburnett, TX; his stepchildren, Victoria (Gary) Stuckart, De Pere; Michael Ekberg, California; Holly (Terry) Grose, Green Bay; 17 grandchildren; two brothers, Vilas "Woody" (Marge) Wood, North Carolina; Wally (Elda) Wood, Manitowoc; two sisters, Pat (Roy) Finley, West Virginia; Sharon (Jack) Gallagher, Oconto Falls; one sister-in-law, Carol Reynolds, Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barb; and one brother, Addison.

Friends called at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls after 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. Funeral was 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Warren Steffenhagen officiating. Burial in the Town of Stiles Cemetery.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made.
