ROSALIE BAHRKE OBITUARY

Bahrke, Rosalie Mae

Rosalie Mae Bahrke, of Gillett, died peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012 at the age of 82. Rosalie was born November 26, 1929 to Louis and Alice (Boehm) VanCaster of Green Bay. Rosalie VanCaster married Harvey Bahrke on September 25, 1948 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring. Rosalie and Harvey farmed for many years on what is now known as the Bahrke Home Farm until their retirement. Following retirement, she operated a lunch wagon for Bahrke Auction and Real Estate. Rosalie had a love for life and always had a twinkle in her eye.One of the highlights of Rosalie's life was in her later years when she flew in an airplane for the first time to California to visit her brother. Her life revolved around her family which is where she found her joy. She was the happiest when her family was around. She throughly loved cooking for every holiday and family event. Rosalie is a member of St. John Catholic Church where she served on the Altar Society and was a past president.

Rosalie was blessed with 5 children, her daughter, Mary (Kenneth) Langhoff and their children, Paul (Kristen); 4 sons, Ferd (Kim) Bahrke and their children, Stacey(Louise), Shaun (Monica), Kristin (Casey); Louis (Mary) Bahrke and their children Craig (Michelle), Carrie (Brian); Gregory (Jennifer) Bahrke and their children, Angela (Mike), Clayton (Ashley), Alex; Jeff (Kathy) Bahrke and their children, Joel, Jessica (Brandon), Jon (Emily). She is further survived by fourteen great grandchildren, her sister, Betty Kozlovsky; brother, Richard (Zelda) VanCaster; three sisters-in-law, Dolores VanCaster, Hilda Bahrke, Dorothy Purcell; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey on January 27, 1993; brother, Junior VanCaster; sister, Marge Stark, along with many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 4-8 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at St. John Catholic Church in Gillett with Father Dean Dombroski officiating. Rosalie will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Oconto Falls. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com
