Richard T. Ryan Sr., 89, 412 Mather St., died Tuesday evening at a local nursing home. Mr. Ryan was employed by North Western Railroad for 36 years as a switchman. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

Survivors are his wife, the former Gertrude Kramer; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Genevieve) Eng, Hot Springs, Ark.; one son, Patrick J. Ryan, Milwaukee; nine grand- children; 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard T. Ryan Jr., four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today. A parish wake service will be held at 8 this evening. The funeral willbe 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Church Cemetery, Stiles.
