Royce SLOAN Royce Sloan, 81, Mountain, died at a Green Bay hospital Sunday, December 19,1999.

He was born in Georgia to the late Joseph Omer and Pauline (Manders) Sloan. He was a graduate of Winder High School. Royce served his country in the Army during WWII. His occupations were numerous; he was a carpenter, had been employed at Fulton Bay Cotton Mill in Georgia, and his favorite job that he talked about all the time was being an automotive salesman in Winder, Georgia.

Royce enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, he wrote his own songs. Everyone in the Sloan family had a nickname that Royce had given to each member.

Survivors include his wife, Lura Belle Sloan of Winder, GA; three sisters, Mae Relle Nickols of Cleveland, TN, Runelle Snow of Mountain whom he made his home with, Donnis Joan (Larry) White of Stockbridge, GA; one daughter, Annette Lee of Gainsville, GA; two sons, William (Gail) Sloan of Winder, GA, Timothy Sloan of Cleveland, TN; many grandchildren and special niece Romana (Jeff) Buol of Cleveland, TN. Royce was preceded in death by a son, Ron, a brother, Joseph, a sister, Kathryn Metros.

Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring Thursday, December 23, 1999 beginning at 2 p.m. Funeral services 7 p.m. with Pastor Scott VanLaanen officiating.
