Raynomd Ralph Ziesmer, 86, Pensaukee, died Sunday, April 19, 1998 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center in Oconto.
Ray was born August 30, 1911 at Pensaukee to the late Karl and Elizabeth (Jahnke) Ziesmer. He married Clara Bloom on June 30, 1936. She preceded him in death on September 27, 1988. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in June of 1986. Ray lived on the home farm his entire life, engaged in farming, retiring from milking cows in 1973. He was a commercial fisherman for several winters. He was Zoning Deputy for the Town of Pensaukee of many years retiring in 1977. He also was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge in Oconto and First American Lutheran Church. Other activities included gardening, playing cards on Wednesday afternoon with friends, and loved visiting.
Survivors inslude one daughter, Ann Marie (Lee) Kasbaum of Pensaukee; one son, Milan Ziesmer of Oensaukee; four grandchildren, Diane (Mike) Sween of Milwaukee; JoAnne (James) Bautch of Dallas, TX; Danny Nowak of San Luis Obispo, CA and Karen (Tim) Cox of Green Bay. Two great-grandchildren Kristin and Nathan Cox; one sister, Gladys (Mrs. Herman) Werth of Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Arnold (Marion) Ziesmer of Grafton; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by five brothers Otto, Carl, Edward, Herbert and Arnold and two sisters Emma Hundt and Ida Topel.
Visitation was held at the Gallagher Funeral Home, oconto, from 4 to 8 p.pm Tuesday, April 21, 1998, and again on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the First American Lutheran Church. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Richard DeBenedetto officiating and burial at Brookside Cemetery.
