Robert R. KLIMENT

Robert R. Kliment, 74, Mountain, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, following a brief illness.

Robert was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Manitowoc, son of the late Fred and Emma Stastny Kliment. He grew up and was educated in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1943. He was captain of the Lincoln High School swim team.Robert was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army, in the European Theatre and in the Battle of the Bulge. After World War II he was a fire watcher in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He was employed at Manitowoc Public Utilities for many years, retiring in 1985. He married Lorraine Kautsky Sept. 24, 1949 at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. Lorraine preceded him in death Dec. 9, 1981. He then married Karin Becker-Shriver, Dec. 1, 1984, at Taus.

Surivors include his wife, Karin, Winter Haven, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Thomas Vogel, of Kewaunee, Diane and Terry Bowlby of Green Bay; two stepsons, Gary Shriver and Jerry Shriver, both of Florida; six grandchildren, Tricia (Keith) Brungraber, Robert Vogel, Thomas Vogel, Thomas Bowlby, Ashley and Nathan Shriver; two great-grandsons, Curtis and Jacob Brungraber; one sister-in-law, Mary Jane Kliment, Kewaunee, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lincoln Kliment.

Visitation was held at Jens Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 12 noon. Funeral Services were held at 12 noon Saturday, May 22, at Jens Family Funeral Home, 1122 South 8th St., Manitowoc, the Rev. Roy C. Myers officiating with burial of his cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Military rites accorded by the American Legion Drews-Bleser Post #88.
