Russell was born on May 18, 1924, to the late Peter and Eva (Demeyer) LaLonde in Oconto and has lived in the Suamico area for the past 31 years. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and received an Honorable Discharge. Russell worked for Alwin Mfg. Co. until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, pool playing and boating.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Jenny LaLonde, Oconto; sisters, Marie Barrera and Roslie (Ambrosis) Alfaro, all of Flint, MI, Lillian Belongia, Green Bay; nieces and nephews, Jean and Gary Maes, Joyce Clark, and Richard LaLonde, all of Green Bay, Barbara (Bill) Lowe, Ruth (Jim) Vandenhoven, all of Wisconsin Rapids, Harold LaLonde, Suamico; further survived by other nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lester; two sisters, Agnes and Edna.
The family received friends at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home West, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Howard, on Thursday, May 17, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Harold J. Pfotenhauer, Funeral Director.

In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established in Russell's name at the funeral home.
