Rio - Richard O. Bubolz, passed away on May 30, 2010, at UW Hospital in Madison.
He was born on May 8, 1935, in Suring, the son of Arnold and Lillian Bubolz. He attended St. John's Grade School, Suring High, and continued his education at UW-River Falls, and extended studies at UW System, teaching Ag, Biology, and Drivers Education in Cambria nine years; Raw Products Manager Michigan Fruit Cannery of Cambria. He was also a farmer, consultant to Lawyers, Judges, distressed farmers and businesses throughout Wisconsin since the 1980's. He served on many local and state boards.
He is survived by his loving wife, Erna (Matson) of 55 years; father of Christy Ann (Steven Earley of International Fall, Minn.) Catherine (Joseph Lanzhammer of Rio), David, deceased, 2002 (Sharon Benzine Bubolz of Rio) Daniel (Lynn Dott Bubolz of Rio) and Daryl (Marilyn McCarthy Bubolz of Cambria); grandchildren, Seth, Paul, Timothy, David Lanzhammer; Shane Chad, Shannon, Sarah, Samantha (Ben Reuter) Bubolz; Joshua, Nicholas, Zachery and Gabrial Bubolz; Anna, Eric Earley; great grandsons: Brian, Jordan Reuter, Alexander, deceased, Isaac Bubolz; brothers, Ronald, Robert (Barbara), Arnold (Shirley), James, deceased; God Daughter, Molly Bubolz; many relatives and dear friends.
Richard was the beloved rock of his family, depended on for his guidance and knowledge. On October 29, 2007, he began in earnest his fight with diabetes, heart and renal disease.
