Rita M. Bergh (Meverden), 60, Green Bay, died suddenly Tuesday evening, March 12, 2002 at a Green Bay hospital.

She was born April 1, 1941 in Oconto Falls to Lloyd and Anna (Toetchinger) Meverden. She attended St. Anthony Catholic grade school and graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1959. On April 28, 1962 she married George D. Bergh in Oconto Falls.

Rita lived in Little Suamico and Green Bay for most of her life where she worked for Curt's-Y-Go-By, Circle T and other restaurants for many years. She was also well known for her work in the family carnival business which she enjoyed since her youth. Rita's certain zest for life and good sense of humor was appreciated by all who knew her.

Survivors are her children, Tina (Ed) Ziehms, Green Bay; Rose (Sam) Ward, DePere; Dan Bergh and special friend, Lynn Ringer, Suamico; her only grandson who she dearly loved, Mitch Bergh; four sisters, Arlene Siewert, CA; Mary Ann Johnson, Marion; Ramona (Clyde) Johnson, Wisconsin Rapids; Anita (Jim) Moynihan, Oconto Falls; one brother, Greg (Ruth) Meverden, Oconto Falls; two stepsisters, Donna (Lyle) Whiting, Oconto; Marlene (Don) Rolling, Madison; one stepbrother, Eugene Le Mere, Green Bay; two brothers-in-law, Earl Neuber, Chilton; Bill Wallace, Kaukauna; one sister-in-law, Franca Meverden, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Edwin Bergh in 1988; four brothers, Glen, Nick, Hilary and Jerry Meverden; two sisters, Aurelia Neuber and Margie Wallace; her stepmother, Leone Meverden; two brothers-in-law, Ervin Siewert and Lloyd Johnson and one sister-in-law, Betty Meverden.

Friends called at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls after 9 a.m. Saturday, March 16, until the time of services. Mass of Christian Burial was conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Harold Beerntsen and Patricia DeGroot, parish director officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Jones Funeral Service, Oconto Falls served the Bergh family.

The Bergh family would like to thank special nurse, Maggie, for her care given to Rita.
