Ronald J. Schuh, 63, Oconto, died suddenly Monday evening March 26, 2001 at Community Memorial Hospital, Oconto Falls.

Ron was born April 19, 1937 at Oconto to Joseph and Mary Kempen Schuh. Upon graduation from Oconto High School, he entered the Army and served his country faithfully during the Korean Conflict. During his working life, Ron was employed by Fort Howard Paper Company, R.E.A. Express, and the Lorillard Tobacco Company. He also worked as an over the road truck driver. On August 6, 1994, Ron was united in marriage to the former Donna Rae Schumacheer in Oconto by Ron's cousin, The Rev. Msgr. John Schuh. Ron was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto and was a former member of the local Knights of Columbus Council of which he served as a Past Grand Knight. He was also a member of the Jones-Modrow-Young American Legion Post #74 of Oconto. Ron recently was a candidate for Mayor of the City of Oconto.

Surviving are his wife, Donna; his father, Joseph Schuh, Oconto; four daughters Theresa Petermann, Bakersfield, CA; Mrs. Thomas Rhonda Schmit, Eden; Mrs. Brian Dorothy Hendricks and Mrs. Craig Brenda Hartwell, Green Bay; two stepsons Greg Karen Haines, Green Bay and Jerry Kim Haines, Lena; five stepdaughters Thelma Haines, Janesville; Mrs. Evan Debbie Mader, Lakeview Terrace, CA; Mrs. Arlen Leta Parkhurst, Green Bay; Teresa Haines, Marinette; and Jennifer Christensen, Gillett; two brothers Thomas Schuh, Milwaukee and Patrick Linda Schuh, Oshkosh; two sisters Mrs. Denis Judith Betts, Abrams and Mrs. Michael Mary Jo Krueger, Green Bay; 25 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Ron was preceded in death by his mother Mary and by a son-in-law, Michael Petermann.

The family received relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Park Avenue at Madison Street, Oconto from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, and from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. Friday, March 30. Parish vigil service was held 7:30 p.m. Thursday with Deacon Walt Kaszynski officiating. Concelebrated Mass of Resurrection was 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church with The Rev. Msgr. John Schuh, The Rev. Fr. David Ruby and Deacon Walt Kaszynski officiating. Interment at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Military rites conducted at the cemetery by the Jones-Modrow-Young American Legion Post #74, following the Rite of Committal. Pallbearers were Jeffrey McKee, Brian Hendricks, Jerry Haines, Evan Mader, Jeff Krueger, and Corey Krueger.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. Ron had entrusted his arrangements to Ackerman Funeral Directors, Oconto.
