Roger 'Mouse' J. Otradovec, 72, Suring South Branch died
in Appleton April 5, 2001 following a short illness. He was born in South
Branch April 17, 1928 to the late Genevieve Pecore and Matthias Otradovec.
Mouse served his country during the Korean War in the Army. He had been
employed as a bus driver for St. Joseph's, a Firetower Watcher for the
D.N.R., worked on the family farm, had been primary care giver for his
parents up to their time of death, was currently a cashier at the Casino,
and truly dedicated his life to his brothers, sisters, and many nieces
and nephews. Mouse also enjoyed the Western Channel. He was a member of
St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring, had served as a Church Council
Member, belonged to the Catholic Order of Forresters, and served as an
usher for many faithful years.
Survivors include his nine sisters and their families: Genevieve Ruben
Hein, Sylvia Wilber both of Bass Lake, Leila Stan Strehlow of Quinnesec,
MI, Roberta Michael Wilson of St. Louis, MO, Angela John Kemper of Combined
Lock, WI, Romelda Dieck of Quinnesec, Christine Sherman Webster of Oshkosh,
Margaret Ralph Lions of Keshena, Rosanne Jerome Sanapaw of Bass Lake; six
brothers and their families: Adelbert Chantel Otradovec of South Branch,
Orville Marie Otradovec of Freedom, Laurel, Pete, and Joe Otradovec all
of South Branch, Matt Heidi Otradovec of Shawano, many nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers
Irvin and Melvin, two sisters Marcella Wilbur and Eleanor Reisterer.
Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Friday,
April 6, from 2 p.m. until prayer vigil 8 p.m. with Sister Karen Vollmer
officiating.
Funeral services were Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic
Church in Suring with Father David Kiefer and Father David Barrett officiating.
Burial in St. Joseph of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in South Branch with
military rites conducted by the American Legion.
