He was born at Lena on November 4, 1885, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lucas, and attended Lena schools. He married the former Mabel Bigelow in 1916 and moved to Appleton in 1918 where he was employed as watchman at the Appleton Toy Company until his retirement. The couple moved to Berry Lake 17 years ago. His wife died in 1967. (Note: They mean he and his sister moved to Berry Lake in 1954. And, Mabel, his wife died in 1966).
Survivors include two daughters, two sons, two sisters, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, April 28, at the Kuehl funeral home in Gillett, the Rev. Charles Damp officiating. Burial took place in Highland Memorial park, Appleton.
