Services for Roy H. Kelly, 83, retired resident plant manager of the Marathon Corporation (now the American Can Co., Rothschild Division) paper mill, were at 2 pm Monday in the Helke Funeral Home here. He died at his home Friday of a heart attack.

A native of Florence county, he rose from the position of machine tender to plant manager in his more than 40 years at the plant. He became resident manager in 1946 and retired in 1954.

Mr. Kelly was a son of a pioneer family, the Tourtillots, and got his first paper mill experience in Oconto Falls. Many of older families here will remember the Kellys and will be sorry to learn of Roy's death. He visited at the M.A. Becker home not too long ago. He was a past president of the village of Rothschild and past chairman of the Marathon county board. He was also past president and trustee of the American Pulp and Paper Mill Superintendent's Association.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel and daughter, Mrs. Betty Damon, Wausau, and a son Roy R. Irving, Texas.
