LAKEWOOD - Roger Garrison, age 65, died Thursday, January 11, 2001, at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.

Roger was born in Bushnell, Ill, on March 18,1935, the son Of Robert and Mabel (Crum) Garrison, Sr. At the age of 17, he joined the US Navy, where he served as well as in the US Coast Guard from 1952 to 1973. He served his country faithfully in both Korea and Vietnam. After an honorable discharge, he moved to Sturgeon Bay, where he worked for Peterson Builders building boats. He worked his way to supervisor, and then, with his unrestricted Seaman's License, piloted the new boats to their new owners. In 1987, he retired to Lakewood.

Roger is survived by: two sons, Darin "DJ" (Jenny) of Lakewood and Sean (Darci) of Green Bay; former wife, Nancy Garrison of Green Bay; sister, Martha Stoddard of California; three brothers; Albert Lowe of Washington, Robert (Shirley) Garrison, Jr. of Florida and Leon Lowe of Ill.; two grandchildren, Dylan Garrison and Ryan Firgens, and numerous other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of friends and family took place at the Suminski Funeral Home of Wabeno, Tuesday, January 16, a sharing of memories service was held.
