Raymond Frewerd Sr., 79, 407 Arbutus Ave., Oconto, passed away Oct. 9, 2001 at his home. Ray was born Jan. 23, 1922 at Oconto to the late Clarence and Sophia (Fleck) Frewerd. He married Doris Hanes June 6, 1942; she preceded him in death April 25, 1997. In Ray's younger days he drove truck for a fish company and served our country in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (Roger Kamka) Pluger, Oconto; Diane (Steve) Dansereau, Oconto Falls; five sons, Gary (Virginia), Green Bay; Richard (Judy), Oconto; Raymond Jr. (Linda), Ellenton, Fla.; Michael, Green Bay; Marc, Oconto; a brother Clarence (Mae Rose) Frewerd, Oconto, a sister-in-law, Harriet Brabant, Oconto; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

His parents, wife Doris; son Larry and two grandsons, Jerry and Earl preceded him in death. Friends may call at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Deacon Walter Kaszynski officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery.
