Ruth
H. Johnson, 84, lifelong resident of Wabeno left this earth to be with her
Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 6 at her daughter's home in Green Bay; she
was surrounded by her loving husband, Gaylord and two daughters. She was
born in Suring, WI on April 27, 1929 to Edward and Sophie (Bubolz) Firgens.
Ruth married Gaylord Johnson in Suring, WI on June 18, 1949. She worked at
the Wabeno Elementary School from 1965-1991. Ruth enjoyed walking, reading,
gardening, knitting, traveling, camping and fishing.
She is survived by her best friend and husband of 64 years, Gaylord M.
Johnson, daughters, Debra (Jim) O'Connell and Valerie Barbiaux, Appleton,
granddaughter, Tiffany Glasl, grandsons, Travis Glasl, Tyler Barbiaux and
Trent Barbiaux, beloved dog, Mindi, sisters, Mildred Borneman and Viola
(Don) Laitinen and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Firgens and Ann Johnson. Ruth is
further survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sophie and Edward, daughter, Judy,
sister, Lorraine Popelka and brother, Harold Firgens.
Memorials may given in Ruth's name to St. John Lutheran Church, Townsend.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00
noon at the St. John Lutheran Church, Townsend. Funeral Service will follow
at 12:00 noon with Pastor Stephen Mueller officiating. Interment will be in
the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Suring. Weber-Hill Funeral Home is assisting
