Rose C. Delano, 87, of 829 S. Main St., Oconto Falls, Wis., died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 24, 2002, at Community Memorial Hospital following complications from surgery.

She was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Trimountain (Houghton County), daughter of Steve and Anna (Verbanee) Frankovich. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Iron Mountain, where she grew up. On Oct. 10, 1936, she married Archie Delano in Waukegan, Ill. Rose lived in various parts of the United States, including Idaho, Arizona, and Montana, where she worked as a nurse’s aide. While living in Arizona, she owned and operated her own restaurant. She moved to Oconto Falls in 1990 and was a volunteer at Community Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by her family, who she dearly loved, daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Jim Magnin of Oconto Falls; Lois and Duane Dugre of Pound, Wis.; Marilyn and Elbert Nunnaley of Oconto Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lin Delano of Mesquite, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Bates of Kingsford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie on March 16, 1972; three sisters; an infant brother and a brother, Steve. Visitation was held Oct. 26 at the Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Funeral services were held Oct. 26 at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Cho officiating.

Cremation will follow with burial of the urn in Rathdrum, Idaho.
