Ruby was born November 20, 1922 at Oconto to the late Hermann and Lillie (Waldo) Falk. She married Homer Belongia February 14, 1942. Ruby worked at Great Lake Shoe Co., Oconto most her life until the plant closed. Ruby was the Adopted Grandma for the students at Holy Trinity School where she enjoyed helping them with their reading.
Survivors include her husband Homer F. Belongia, Oconto; two daughters Sandra Belongia, Milwaukee; Diane (Joseph) LeBreck, Stiles; two sons Bruce (Marilu) Belongia, Cedarburg; Thomas (Linda) Belongia, Oconto; one sister, Pearl Spice, Abrams; seven grandchildren Terese Belongia, Tracy (Tim) Mulcahy, Paul Belongia; Heidi Belongia, Andrew Belongia, Daniel LeBreck and Sean LeBreck; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Belongia. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ada Falk.
Friends called at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto on Thursday. Wake service was held. Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001, at Holy Trinity Parish with Rev. David C. Ruby officiating. Burial will be at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
