GREEN BAY - Roy F. Bartels, 51, 2535 West Point Rd., died Feb. 1, 1999 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on March 8, 1947 in Green Bay to the now late Fred and Viola (Hardtke) Bartels. He graduated from Oconto Falls High School. On Feb. 21, 1936 he married Debra Olesen at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Roy was employed at Town and Country Electric in Appleton. He thoroughly enjoyed his job as a journeyman electrician. He coached softball teams in the Green league. Roy was a member Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Mark Lutheran Church since 1967.

Survivors include his loving wife, Debra, four sons and two daughters-in-law, Sam and Melissa, Scott and Denise, Jamie Bartels, William and his special friend Becky, all of Green Bay; two daughters, Kristina Bartels and her special friend Troy, Laura Bartels and her special friend Brent, all of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Andrew, Timothy, Erin, Tyler, and, Rachel, a special godson, Ben O'Brien, Green Bay; a special family friend, Tammy LeMay, Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Pat, Gary and Karen Bartels, all of Green Bay; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Beverly and Joe Rodriguez, Milwaukee; Sharon and John Schricker, Sandra Bartels and her special friend Lyle, all of Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Martha Marcks, Black Creek; and his mother-in-law Bernice Olesen, Green Bay; also survived by sisters and brothers- in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and many friends.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Brent, and father-in-law, William Olesen.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 t 8 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Road. Visitation continues on Thursday after 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
