Robert E. Thompson
Robert E. Thompson, age 51, of Kimberly passed
away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at ThedaCare Medical Center following a brief
illness. Rob was born in Racine on March 19, 1965 to Robert and Carol (Buhrandt)
Thompson. He was employed at Racine Industries from 1986 to 1996 and was
currently employed by Expera (Thilmany Papermill) Specialty Solutions. Rob
married Stephanie Charlier on April 12, 2008 in Las Vegas. He enjoyed spending
time at the family home on Anderson Lake. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting
with his family and friends. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July when he
put on his fireworks shows for everyone to enjoy. Rob loved telling jokes and
making people laugh
Rob is survived by his wife, Stephanie Thompson; his mother, Carol Thompson; his
brother, Michael Thompson; sister-in-law, Deniell (Paul) Bomberg; a
brother-in-law, Paul (Liz) Charlier; 7 nieces and nephews, Allison, Tyler,
Abigail, Kegan, Kyleigh, Keylee and Louie; his mother-in-law, Jan (Mark) Beyer;
his father-in-law, Bruce Charlier. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles,
cousins, other relatives and friends.
Rob was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Thompson; his aunt, Shirlee
Driskel who passed away on March 27, 2016; his sister-in-law, Vickie Phalin and
many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring on Saturday,
April 2, 2016 from 10 am until the funeral service at 2 pm with Pastor Michael
Paholke officiating.
A special thank you to ThedaCare Medical Center and its staff on the first,
second, and fifth floors, and also to Dr. Alexander Hawkins with the
Neuroscience Group.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Kimberly Fire
Department for their Firework Fund.
