FATHER AND DAUGHTER DIE IN AIRPLANE CRASH

Ronald Ermis, 38, and his daughter, Sonia Ermis, 14, W8107 F. 16th Rd., Coleman, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 29, 1998 from injuries received in an Airplane accident in the town of Grover. Ronald was born Oct. 20, 1960 to Henry and Georgia (Gold) Ermis. He was a 1978 graduate of Coleman High School. Ron was self-employed in the Pole Construction business known as Select Builders. He enjoyed flying his plane, sky diving and scuba diving. He was married to Sandy Smet on Sept. 15, 1979 in Lena. Ron was a loving husband and father.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Ermis; three sons; Steve, Kevin and Chad, all at home; his mother, Georgia Ermis of Crivitz; two sisters, Bonnie (Ron) Osterman of Oconto Falls and Barbara (Dave) Nelson of Peshtigo; one brother, David (Shari) Ermis of Coleman; grandparents, George And Mary Gold of Abrams.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry, in February 1998.

Sonia Ermis was born May 26, 1984 to Ronald and Sandy (Smet) Ermis in Green Bay. She was a freshman student at Coleman High School and was active in basketball, volleyball and track.

Sonia is survived by her mother, Sandy Ermis; three brothers, Steve, Kevin and Chad, all at home; grandmothers, Georgia Ermis of Crivitz and Mary Smet of Lena; great-grandparents, George and Mary Gold; aunts, Lori Smet of Lena, Nancy (Glen) Grooms of Hartford, Bonnie (Ron) Osterman, Barbara (Dave) Nelson; uncles, Brian Smet of Lena, and Dave (Shari) Ermis.

Sonia was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Kenny Smet and Henry Ennis.

Visitation was held at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, with a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m. There was also visitation Saturday from 11 am. until 12 noon at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial was held for Ronald and Sonia at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Ss. Francis and Wenceslaus Church, Coleman, with Rev. John Hephner officiating. Interment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Coleman.
