Roger E. Garrison

Roger E. Garrison, 65, of Lakewood, WI; died Thursday, January 11, 2001,
at Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.
Roger was born in Bushnell, IL. on March 18, 1935, the son of Robert and
Mabel (Crum) Garrison, Sr. At the age of 17, he joined the US Navy,
where he served as well as in the US Coast Guard from 1952 to 1973. He
served his country faithfully in both Korea and Vietnam. After an
honorable discharge, he moved to Sturgeon Bay, where he worked for
Peterson Builder building boats. He worked his way to supervisor, and
then, with his unrestricted Seaman's License, piloted the new boats to
their new owners. In 1987, he retired to Lakewood.
Roger is survived by two sons, Darin "DJ" (Jenny) Garrison of Lakewood;
Sean (Darci) Garrison of Green Bay; former wife, Nancy Garrison of Green
Bay; sister, Martha Stoddard of California; three brothers Albert Lowe
of Washington, Robert (Shirley) Garrison, Jr. of Florida, Leon Lowe of
Illinois. Further survived by two grandchildren, Dylan Garrison and Ryan
Firgens, and numerous other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in
death by his parents.
A gathering of friends and family took place at the funeral home on
Tuesday, January 16, 2001 from 5 to 7 p.m. At 7 p.m., a sharing of
memories service was held. Suminski Funeral Home of Wabeno given the
privilege of handling the arrangements.
