ROSE BARANOWSKI OBITUARY

Baranowski, Rose

Rose Eva Baranowski, 90, died on August 6, 2012, at Woodland Village in Suring, surrounded by her children. The daughter of Robert and Anna (Rosin) Eckert was born December 13, 1921, in the Town of Lessor. On December 22, 1945, Rose married Reuel H. Gerlach in Shawano County. Reuel preceded her in death on March 7, 1973. Rose married Leo J. Baranowski on November 6, 1976, at Friedens Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Leo preceded her in death on February 20, 2007.

Rose was employed during WWII at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee, on the line, riveting magnetos for war planes. In 1945, Reuel and Rose owned and operated a tavern/store for four years in Shawano County. The couple relocated to Mountain, where they owned and operated Rose & Reuel's Bar and Cabins for 16 years. Upon relocation to Angelica, Rose worked for Northern Shoe in Pulaski, until her retirement in 1986. Rose was later employed by Assumption B.V.M. Church in food service for 10 years.

She was actively involved in Homemakers and Ladies Aid in Mountain and Pulaski. Rose enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and canine companions. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and Friday night fish fries. She spent many hours crocheting afghans, including making a beautiful bedspread.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Ruth (William) Bartz, Suring; son, Rodney (Cindy) Gerlach, Green Bay; step-daughter, Agnes (Anthony) Yurek, Lakewood; step-son, John (Mary) Baranowski, Wrightstown; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Reuel, second husband, Leo, four sisters, and four brothers.

Friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, W1978 Church Dr., Zachow, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church, Rev. Virgil Hanson officiating with burial in Mountain Cemetery.
