Ralph E. Albertz, 79, of Ashwaubenon, died Friday, February 2, 2001 at his home.

He was born February 6,1921 in Columbus, WI to the late Edgar and Mae (Scheffen) Albertz. Ralph served his country during W.W.II in the US Navy aboard the USS Claxton. On Aug. 5, 1947, he married Betty McCarthey. Ralph was a member of the VFW Suamico Post #9409 and was employed as a barber for 35 years. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his devoted children and their spouses: Phyllis Albertz, Hastings, MN; Michael and Wendy Albertz, Waukesha; Barbara and L. Frank Huntington, Madison; Mary and Wanye Mertens, Madison; Joseph and Elena Albertz, and Karen and Paul Cibula all of Green Bay; his grandchildren: Jeff, Jim and Dave Albertz, Harmony and Karissa Huntington, Andrea, Brooke, and Connie Mertens, Nicholas, Amy and Kali Cibula, JoAnna Albertz; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles 'Mick' Albertz, Kaukauna; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vallee Hansel, Oshkosh, and Beverly and Elmer J. Kopp, Minneapolis, MN; a maternal aunt, Armentha Greatans, Oconto; a special cousin, Vallee Randall, Fond du Lac.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mae Albertz and by a sister, Phyllis Albertz. Visitation and funeral services were held. Blaney Funeral Home, 521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay is assisting the family. Burial will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Stiles WI. In lieu of flowers a memorial as been established in his name.
