Ruth was born February 11, 1918 in Cecil, WI the daughter of the late James and Cecelia (Lindsau) Campbell. She grew up in Cecil and graduated from high school. On May 21, 1941 she married Robert Kroll, who preceded her in death on January 20, 1998. They lived in West DePere where they farmed and she worked at a nursing home until moving to Townsend in 1970. While living in Townsend she continued to work for a local nursing home and also for Linssen's Restaurant. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Townsend. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and her many pets, especially Benji.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Gill Gray, Ruther Glen, VA; Linda (Allan) Harris, Green Bay; six sons, Dale (Cheryl) Kroll, Green Bay; Curt (Ann) Kroll, Green Bay; Corey (Pat) Kroll, Arizona; Bob (Cheryl) Kroll, Lakewood; Tom Kroll, Townsend; Jeff (Rhonda) Kroll, Townsend; one sister, Elaine Dantoin, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Izza Waffle, Greenville, WI; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Robert, she also was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 2 from 5-8 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Townsend. Visitation continued on Friday, November 3 from 9 until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Bratz officiating. Interment at Forest Home Cemetery, Townsend. Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno assisted the family with arrangements. 3h>
