Ruth l. Kussow, 97 of Oconto, passed away Wednesday, June 11,
2008 at Woodlands Nursing Home. Oconto. Ruth was born July 2,
1910 in Abrams to the late Charles and Ann (Bibby) Behling. She
married Ben Kussow on April 28, 1934. He preceded her in death
on May 13, 1996. Ruth graduated from Oconto Falls High School in
1927 and graduated from teaching training in 1928. She taught at
grade schools in Mountain and Morgan. Ruth and Ben farmed
together near Brookside, WI for 37 years. They moved in their
retirement to the Kussow family farm, located in Little Suamico.
Ruth and Ben enjoyed their travel throughout the U.S.,
especially with friends from the Oconto Electric Co-op. The
high-lite of their travels was a trip to New Zealand. They
enjoyed playing cards with friends throughout their lives.
Ruth is survived by five sons Tom (Lois) Kussow, Little Suamico;
Dr. Wayne (Carol) Kussow, Madison; Dr. Roger (Barbara) Kussow,
Columbus, OH; Gary (friend Diane) Kussow, Elkhart Lake; James
Kussow, San Francisco, CA; one granddaughter Patricia
Kussow-Fusco, Madison; six grandsons and their families Dan
(Lisa) Kussow, Howard; Michael (Ann) Kussow, Green Bay; Matthew
(Michelle) Kussow, Waterloo; Jeff (Kathy) Kussow, Waukesha; Tim
Kussow, Hartford; Dave (Angie) Kussow, Madison; Warren (Pam)
Schneider, Columbus, OH; Adam Kussow, Columbus, OH; Nathan
Kussow, Columbus, OH. She is further survived by 18 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers Jess,
Wilbur, Howard, Charles, Herald, two sisters Alice and Estelle,
a great grandson Michael G. Kussow Jr. and a step-granddaughter
Natalie Nelson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the United
Methodist Church, Abrams, from 10 to 11 AM Thursday, June 19,
2008. Memorial services will be conducted 11 AM Thursday at the
church with the Rev. Richard Fite officiating. Burial will be at
the Brookside Cemetery. The Gallagher Funeral Home and Cremation
Service is assisting the family. On line condolences may be

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
