Paul retired from Ruan Trucking after 30 years. He was named truck driver of the year in 1965 and received an award for a million miles without an accident. Paul also received an award for saving a man's life while driving truck. He was an avid fisherman and had many friends who also fished in Door County and the Oconto Breakwater. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus of Green Bay. Paul was an Alderman and on the City Council of Oconto for four years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto.
Paul is survived by his wife, Marian; daughters Paula (Mike) Janssen, Green Bay; Barbara (Roger) Schmitt, Green Bay; sons Steve (Marlene) Younger, Oneida; Doug (Debbie) Younger, McAllister, two stepdaughters Cathelyn (Otto) Skarban, Milwaukee; Linda (Dave) Sears, Littleton, CO; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Vincent (Clarabel) Younger, Stiles; sisters-in-law Shirley M. Younger, Oconto Falls; Rosemary Younger. Green Bay; Shirley Younger, Stiles; brother-in-law, Allan (Del) Scanlan, Oconto; sisters-in-law Charlotte Longsine, Oconto; and Doris (Wally) Schneider, Brookfield. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by sisters Mary (Braswill) Oliver, and Zoe (Mark) Murphy, and brothers John, George (Katherine), William and Dr. Jerome.
Friends called on Sunday at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago Street, Oconto. Separate rosary service was conducted by St. Anne Society and the Knights of Columbus Council 1475 of Oconto. A wake service was held. The Funeral Mass was conducted at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto (corner of Park Ave. and Madison St.), at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, with Father David Ruby officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
