Penny was born October 29, 1939 to Harvey and Anne Nelsen in Tomahawk, WI. She was raised in Wisconsin and worked as a flight attendant for Continental Airlines. In September 1965 she married Marty Griffith in Green Bay. They moved to Oregon in 1969. She enjoyed riding horses and living in rural areas. She was a talented oil painter and stained glass artist. She loved her family, friends and her many poets.
Survivors include her husband Marty; daughter, Melissa Ann Griffith; her sons John and Christopher all of Redmond, Dennis and Julie Griffith and three grandchildren of West Hills, CA; a brother, Russell (Joyce) Nelsen of Oconto, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Harvey Nelsen, and two brothers Dennis and John Nelsen.
Her wish was to be buried with her family at Brookside Cemetery. The family will have a memorial service in the spring. More information will be forthcoming.
