RESIDENT OF LITTLE SUAMICO IS BURIED SATURDAY

Mrs. Parmaelia Maurois King, 72, one of Little Suamico's oldest known residents, died here early last Thursday, November 8, after a lingering illness. She had been in poor health for the past two years and death was not unexpected.

Mrs. King was born at St. Ambrose, Canada, entering the United States at the age of 18. Her first residence was at Negaunee, Mich. where she remained several years following her marriage at Escanaba in 1881. In 1887 she moved with her family to Little Suamico, maintaining a continuous residence here for the remainder of her life.

Widowed in early life and burdened with the task of rearing her family unassisted, Mrs. King was widely known and respected throughout the community for her straightforwardness and kindly disposition. Her friends and acquaintances were legion and in later years she was referred to as "Grandma King." Of a deeply religious character, she exerted a continuous and influential interest in affairs throughout the community where her loss will be keenly felt.

Mrs. King is survived by eight children, George, of Fond du Lac; Mrs. George Smith, Marinette; Mrs. Laura Guerin, DePere; Mrs. William McHugh, Milwaukee; Lewis, Green Bay, and Mesdames Charles Grosse, William Stiller Land, Floyd Ferdon, Little Suamico. One brother, Joseph Maurois, of Quebec, Canada, together with 21 grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

The funeral was held at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning with services from the St. Pious Catholic church, the Rev. Robert officiating. Burial was in the family plot in the Little Suamico cemetery.
