Phillip J. Wozniak, 86, Suring, resident of the Woodlands died there Tuesday May 27, 2003.

He was born in Breed Township April 9, 1917 to the late William and Theresia (Schmidt) Wozniak. Phillip married Helen Stix October 7, 1939. Over the years Phil held many different jobs including logging, farming, cutting boughs, and being employed at Gillett Cement for over 25 years until retiring. He served as a past Town of Breed Supervisor, was an excellent trapper and trout fisherman, who also enjoyed playing cards with his friends. Phillip was a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring.

Survivors include his daughter, Patsy Gauthier of Suring; his four sons and their families: Phillip (Marlene) Wozniak of Gillett; David (Wendy) Wozniak, Thomas Wozniak all of Suring; Victor (Angie) Wozniak of Green Bay; two brothers, Joe Wozniak of Westwood, California; Bill Wozniak of Dacature, IL; a sister, Cecelia; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Helen on April 13, 1997, his son Robert, a brother, and three sisters.

Visitation was held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Suring on Friday, May 30 beginning at 12 noon until funeral services 2 p.m. at Church with Father Paul Schumacher officiating. Burial in Breed Union Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home, Suring in charge of arrangements. A special thank you to Woodland Village and its staff for their tender loving care
