Peter was born on March 3, 1909 in Lena to the late Joseph and Mary (Zima) Skochpol. He attended and graduated from the Lena High School in 1928. He married the former Nora Johnson on November 2, 1940 in Iowa and reaffirmed marriage vows at St. Charles Catholic Church on February 22, 1941. She preceded him in death on February 14, 1994.
He worked for a short time at Kohler Manufacturing in Sheboygan and then he and Nora owned and operated the Spruce Ballroom until their retirement. They then resided in Spruce and Lena. Peter was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spruce. He enjoyed playing baseball as a young man and was an avid follower of professional baseball and football. He has resided at the Nursing Home since March 6, 1991.
Survivors include one brother-in-law, Edward Holzer, Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters Violet Netzer, Arlene Kozina, and Genevieve Holzer.
Friends called at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral service on Saturday. Funeral service was conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Funeral Home with Father Peter Taylor officiating. Burial in the St. Charles Cemetery.
