She was born August 12, 1931, to the late Roy and Helen (Packard) McCurry in Renwick, Iowa. She graduated from Renwick High School. She married the late Charles Smith in 1949. They moved to the White Lake area in 1954 and then to Mountain in 1960. After being left to raise her children due to her husband's illness she worked at various jobs in the area. On July 8, 1978, she married Michael T. O'Brien and settled on Irish Maid Farms. She continued farming with Mike until retirement. Besides being a loving wife and mother, Pat enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, traveliing and having her family around.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; daughters, Wendy (Gary) DeHart, White Lake: Debra (Earl)Budd, Mountain; Kelly McDonald, Antigo; sons, Gary (Amber) Smith, Peshtigo; Jeff (Jean) Smith, Green Bay; Rick (Sherrie) Smith, Mountain; Clay (Cindi) Smith, Mountain; Patrick (Jenifer) O'Brien, Mountain; Shawn O'Brein, Mountain: 18 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Stanley McCurry, Renwick, Iowa; Jerry (Lorraine) McCurry, Humbolt, Iowa; one sister, Vera Packard, Renwick, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by one sister, twin grandsons, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home in Antigo.
