BIOGRAPHY: From an unknown newspaper "Otto Daumitz Dies at 77, Rites Set"
BIOGRAPHY Funeral services for Otto Daumitz, 77, of 47 Oakwood Ave. Gaastra, will be held Wednesday at 2 at the LaFave Funeral Home in Stambaugh. Mr. Daumitz passed away Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Stambaugh General hospital following a lingering illness. He had been in failing health for the past seven years.
BIOGRAPHY: Born Feb 4. 1888 in Oconto, Wis., he married the former Jennie Anderson in Bessemer. Mich. in 1914. They lived in Calumet for a year where he was employed by the Calumet and Hecla Copper Co. From there they moved to Wisconsin, just across the state border from Scott Lake where they developed a farm and did considerable logging. Later in retirement age they planted a large acreage of trees. He was a pioneer of the township of Tipler, having come to that community before the town existed and when that area was then a part of Florence county. He was active in politics and held several township offices including chairman, assessor and school treasurer.
BIOGRAPHY: He was a member of the Hiram D. Fisher Lodge No. 222 of Florence, Wis and also of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Mason of Wisconsin.
BIOGRAPHY: Surviving are his wife, Jennie; two sons, Chester of Ishpeming and Redmond of Rockford, Ill., two daughter, Mrs. Norma Hore of Rockford, III., and Mrs. Anita Funk of Lancaster, Wis.; one sister Mrs. Allan Gallup of Gaastra, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
BIOGRAPHY: Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the LaFave Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl H Berndtson , pastor of the First Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Stambaugh cemetery.
