Orpha Exferd SOLIE

Orpha M. Solie, 68, of rural Chetek, WI died Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at her home. She was born April 30, 1930 in Wabeno, WI to Henry and Norma (Bennett) Exferd. She married Arthur E. Solie on February 27, 1954 in Gillett, WI. Orpha was a homemaker after moving to Chetek and previously did restaurant work in the Franklin, WI area and also at Seneca. She had lived in the Chetek area since 1982 coming from Franklin, WI. Orpha was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cameron, and St. John's Ladies Aid. She loved to play bingo; and was always 'ready to go.' She also loved traveling, all kinds of sports, and Solitaire and cards were frequent. She had a very deep love for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother, Norma Exferd of Rice Lake (formerly of Townsend); one son, John (Liz) Solie of Rice Lake; two daughters, Patty (Jeff) Larson of rural New Auburn and Donna (Miro) Sreekovic of South Milwaukee; three brothers, George (Judy) Exferd of Milwaukee, Emmett (Helen) Exferd of Lakewood and Andy (Pat) Exferd of Townsend; two sisters, Helen (Bob) Reininger of Rice Lake and Gin (Gene) Koch of Lakewood; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Exferd; and husband, Arthur (August 17, 1992).

Funeral service was held Tuesday, January 19,1999 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cameron, WI. Pastor James Vanek officiated. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa. Falls, WI. Friends called at Burnham-Ours Funeral Home, Chetek.
