MRS. BEDORE
IS KILLED AT STILES
Walked Across Railroad Track in Front of Freight Train
Mrs. Odelia Bedore was instantly killed at Stiles last Friday afternoon by a C. M. St. P.& F. R. R.
freight train. Mrs. Bedore, who was about eighty years of age, was crossing the railroad track at
Stiles at the time of the accident. When the engineer saw her approaching the crossing he blew his
locomotive whistle, but she apparently did not hear it, as she was already on the track when the
train reached and she was struck and thrown about thirty feet. Besides other injuries she sustained
a broken back and was dead when picked up.
Deceased was the widow of the late James Bedore and was an old and respected resident of Stiles.
Her fatal accident was a severe shock to the community as well as to her relatives. She leave's four
sons and daughters: Mrs. Eugene VanLaanen, Stiles; Mrs. Alice Ward, Phoenix, Ariz; Clifford
Bedore, Advance, Wis., and Mrs. C. H. Post, Tipler, Wis.,
besides several grandchildren.
As the accident was plainly accidental no inquest will be held.
