OCONTO FALLS- Funeral rites were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at the Somick Funeral Chapel in Oconto Falls for Norman Rice, 60, who died very unexpectedly early Saturday morning. The Rev. James A. Scott of the Methodist church officiated at the services and interment took place in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Rice suffered a heart attack on Friday evening, and passed away at the local hospital.

He was born August 23, 1903 in Oconto Falls. His marriage to the former Pearl Graham took place in 1924. Mr. Rice was employed at the Paper Mill for a number of years, and later at the Baldwin Plywood Company at Gillett. For the past fifteen years, he worked as a painter and decorator.

The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, Donna, who is Mrs. Wm. Vanden Bush, Jr. of Santa Ana, California. Janet, Mrs. Vernon Doney of Oconto Falls and a son Lowell of Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Sherburn Flower, of St. Paul and Mrs. Basil Trenanier of Fond du Lac other sister, Mrs. Carmon Sorenson of St. Paul died a short time ago.

Mr. Rice is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland Rice, was a member of a family of early settlers in this community.
