Norman Joseph Burg, 58, Belvidere, died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at home.

He was born to the late Norbert Joseph and Marion Roudenbush Burg June 15, 1942 in Lena. Norman married the former Patricia Ann Rippberger August 26, 1966 in Woodstock, IL. He graduated from Lena High School, and was a Rockford area resident since 1967. Norman worked at Rockford Drop Forge as a hammer man for over 31 years. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW Ross-Pearson Post.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia, Belvidere; sons, Brad Dawn Burg, Rockford; Brian Tammy Burg, Rockford; daughter, Antoinette Burg, Belvidere; granddaughters, Ashley, Jessica and Saharra; grandsons, Brian and Justin; two brothers, Louie Pat Burg, Huntington, IN; Rev. Mike Valeerie Burg, Sheboygan; two sisters, Karen Earley, Wausaukee; Mary Burg, Minocqua; and close family acquaintance, Melissa Barnes. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends called at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Lena, Monday, February 19 from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. with Father John Hephner and Rev. Mike Burg officiating. The funeral was followed by military rites by American Legion Doney-DeGrave post 342 of Lena. Interment in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Lena. Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Lena assisting the family.
