He was born March 19, 1904 at the family farm at Maplewood (Door County) to Gustave and Marie (Wessel) Leege. He married Ella Benesh on May 7, 1932 in Milwaukee. He was employed in a number of management positions and business ventures in Milwaukee, Sun Prairie and Oconomowoc, retiring to Clearwater, FL in 1966.
Survivors include his children, Jim (Mary) Leege, West Bend; Betty (Walt) Roeser, Lakeland, FL; Tom (Carolyn) Leege, Coeur d'Alene, ID; John (Elsa) Leege, Las Cruces, NM; and Bill (Sheri) Leege, Oconto; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, in 1990; a daughter, Kathleen; a great-grandson; and his brother, Elmer Leege. A Memorial Service will be held in early spring. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery (West Bend).
