Oconto Falls-A year of illness was brought to a close for Mrs. Nellie Ball Smith on Tuesday Morning. Death came to her at 5:45 at her home on North Main Street and the body is resting at the Soulek Funeral Home where friends may call after three pm Wednesday afternoon.

The Rev. Cecil V. Dawson, pastor of the Methodist church, will officiate at rites in the chapel of the funeral home at one pm Thursday afternoon and burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Smith was born in Oconto November 23, 1887, the daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Wm. Ball. She was married to Harry Smith on April 16, 1912 who died in 1934.

For a number of years Mrs. Smith and her daughter Bessie operated the Sweet Shoppe in Oconto Falls, and made many friends during this time. She was a lifelong resident of the community. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Degantown Homemakers and the Good Will Club.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter Bessie, a nurse from Two Rivers, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nora Smith Nespor, also of that city. She also leaves three brothers, Henry of Antigo, Marvin and Frank of Oconto Falls, two sisters, Verna, Mrs. Lawrence Junco, Oconto Falls and Mrs. Agnes Mankel of Detroit, and two grandchildren. Ralph Smith of North Lake, Illinois and Mrs. James Dimmer of Green Bay.
