Oconto Falls – Mrs. Joe (Mathilde) Carriveau, 88, R.R. Oconto Falls, died Sunday morning after a long illness at the family home. She was born Feb. 9, 1878 at LaMonselle, France. The former Miss Waymel was married to Mr. Carriveau July 23, 1900 at Oconto Falls. He preceded her in death in Feb. 1939.

The couple operated a farm and was associated in the building contracting business in Oconto Falls area. She was preceded in death by one son, Edmund.

She is survived by five daughters, gene, Milwaukee; Mrs. Betty Sherman, Oconto; Mrs. Francis (Irma) Blaser, Pulaski; Mrs. George (Dorothy) Ardts, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Earl (Violette) Larsen, Menominee, Mich.; two sons George Abrams; Ray, R.R. Oconto Falls; one sister Mrs. Camille ??? (can not read) Lena; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.

At Soulek funeral home, Oconto Falls. Rosaries tonight at 7:30 by the Alter Society, by the Parish at 8p.m. and the Knights of Columbus 8:30 p.m. Funeral 10 a.m., Tuesday, St. Anthony's Church, Oconto Falls, the Rev. Joseph Tomczyk officiating. Burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
