Muriel Ebenhoe Obituary

Muriel H. Ebenhoe, 85, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Rennes Health Care Center after a short illness. Muriel was born in Lena, Wis. on Oct. 7, 1926, to the late John and Antoinette (Aerts) Vanderheiden. She studied nursing at St. Mary Hospital in Green Bay, then furthered her studies in medical records in Danville, Ill. On Oct. 18, 1958, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Ebenhoe. The couple enjoyed 48 years together until his death in 2006. Muriel worked as a medical records consultant for 30 years. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Theda Clark Hospital, then started her own business consulting with nursing homes throughout the entire state of Wis., retiring in Oct. of 1991. She was a member of the Civic League of Appleton, Fox River Valley Regional Group of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, Tam O'Shanter Golf League, Spice Bowling League, DAV Auxilliary, and a member at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Jo (Tom) Smith, Greenville, and their children, Andrea (Matt) Louison, and Dean Smith; a son, David (Terry) Ebenhoe, Calif.; and their sons Justin and Ben; a brother, Armand Vanderheiden, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law: Delores (Norbert) McHugh, Appleton, and Marcella Bornemann, Green Bay. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Lloyd and Roland.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton, with Father Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Fuenral Chapel, and directly at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
