She was born in Red Springs Shawano County on October 11, 1913 to the late John and Blanche Little Tousey. She married John E. Dessart January 18, 1933 in Gillett. The couple lived and farmed many years in the town of How. Myrtle loved to sew and cook for her family. She was a member of the Suring United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Florence Richard Klawitter of Suring, Louise Setum of Waukesha; her son, Edward Dessart of Suring; five sisters, Ruby Jashinsky of Coleman, Bessie Gordon Borge of Mundeline, IL, Mayme 'Pat' Ira Davids of Bowler, Velma Yakel of Watersmeet, MI, Opal Erb of Suring; one brother, Ervin 'Smoke' Enid Tousey of Bowler; sisters-in-law, Sister Rose Wilhelmine OSF of Springfield, IL, Margaret Dessart of Suring; two grandchildren and their families. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband John on January 2, 1992, her sister, Sister Wistremunde, three brothers, Gordon, Mick, and Wallace; two brothers-in-law, Sam Yakel and Walter Jashinsky; one son-in-law, Robert Setum.
Visitation was held at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring. Funeral services were Monday 11 a.m. at the Suring United Methodist Church with Pastor LaVerne Ulrichson officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. A memorial has been established.
