OCONTO – Mary E. Rockwell, 82, 101 First St., Oconto passed away February 20, 2001 at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Oconto. Mary was born May 31, 1918 at Hayes, WI to the late Louis and Eva (Case) Stone. She married Ted Rockwell January 15, 1938, he preceded her in death on November 9, 1986. Mary was disabled with rheumatoid arthritis when she was 39 years old. She made stuffed animals and stocking caps for different charities. She also enjoyed crocheting and embroidery and other crafts.

Survivors include two daughters, Lola Coel, Oconto; Eva (Emil) Groth, Oconto Falls; two sons, Lee (Jean) Rockwell, Oconto; Ted R. (Kathy) Rockwell, Oconto; a special cousin Henry Willes; 12 grandchildren: Lynn Calazda, Christine Reyes, Andrew Brault, Dan Groth, Jeff McDonald, Debbie Peterson, Cindy Magnin, Kelly Foral, Cindy Madson, Bonnie Retzlaff, Chris Pillsbury and Jim Rockwell; twenty eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Reuben, Andrew and David; three sisters, Helen, Lillian, and Rachel; one grandson, James Rockwell; two sons-in-law, Herbert Brault and Arthur Coel Jr.

Friends may call at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the funeral home with Rev. Frederick Schultz officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
