Mildred "Millie" Mary Harmon, 101, lifetime resident of Oconto, died Monday, January 8, 2001 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Cen ter, Oconto.

She was born to the late James and Octavia (DesJarlais) Roy September 9, 1899 in Oconto. The former Mildred M. Roy married Edward Harmon May 23, 1922 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oconto. He preceded her in death in May of 1925. Mildred was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto.

Millie was an accomplished seamstress and milliner who enjoyed trimming hats for her family and friends. She managed the Perly Hat Shop in Marinette for 17 years and was clerk at the Bell Store, also in Marinette, until her retirement.

Surviving are her grandson, James Sigman and great?grandson, Jeremy Sigman of Greenbrae, CA; nephew, Linwood and Irene Johnson, Menominee, MI; nieces, Donna (Dick) Pinkart, Oconto; and Bonnie Krueger, Clintonville; many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mildred was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Harmon Sigman, grandson, Edward Sigman, brother, Lawrence, and sisters Eva Johnson, Clarice Case, Della Janssen, Leone Potter and Bernice Palen. Friends called at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. David Ruby officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Rhodes?Charapata Funeral Home & Crematory, Oconto assisted the family. A memorial fund has been established for the Holy Trinity Building Fund.
