Delzer, Martha
Martha C. Delzer, Oconto Falls, 86, died Wednesday morning, February 19,
2014 at Sharpe Care. She was born October 28, 1927 in Oconto Falls to Jacob
and Marie (Selke) Reinert. Martha attended Oconto Falls Public Schools where
she graduated high school with the class of 1946.
On June 9, 1951 she married Alton "Bill" Delzer at Grace Lutheran Church in
Oconto Falls. At onetime, Martha was employed at Spiegals Grocery and
Bauman's Clothing stores in Oconto Falls and Country Gardens in Gillett. As
a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls, Martha was active in the
various women's activities, taught Sunday school and sang in the choir over
the years. She also served as a Brownie Girl Scout Leader and worked as a
crossing guard for many years. Martha will be lovingly remembered as an avid
bird watcher and flower gardener as well as a great cook and baker.
Survivors are her three children, Paulette "Polly" (Ken) Exferd, Oconto;
Thomas (Kelly) Delzer, Pulaski; Kevin (Patricia "Patsy") Delzer, Brookside;
nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Sean) Heyrman, Jennifer (Michael) Wickman and
Jackie (Scott) Roskom; Adam (Michelle) and Melissa Delzer; Mitchell and
Aaron Delzer; Jacob and Joshua Delzer; seven great-grandchildren: Mackenzie,
Sterling and Bennett Heyrman, Abigail, Riley and Brady Roskom, Alissa
Wickman; one sister, Lorraine Rallof, Green Bay; one brother, Ronald
(Lucille) Reinert, Thiensville; one sister-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Delzer,
Howard; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton "Bill" on
February 12, 2007, one son, Curtis (Gail) Delzer, 2 brothers, Norman and
Edward (Beatrice) Reinert, three sisters, Edna Delzer, Selma (Fred) Beine
and Helen (Fred) Schroeder; and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Delzer and James
Rallof.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls from 4-8pm
Saturday, February 22, 2014. Visitation will continue at First Presbyterian
Church, 133 Jackson St. Oconto, WI 54153 after 1:30pm Sunday, February 23,
2014 until the time of service. Funeral services will be held 3pm Sunday at
the church with the Rev. Craig R. Alwin officiating. Burial will take place
in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
The Delzer family would like to thank Dr. William Wittman and the staffs of
Community Memorial Hospital and Sharpe Care for the care and concern shown
Martha during their time together.
