Otto
Topel, 64, died Friday at 9 p.m. in Madison, where he had been a patient
since June 10.
Born in Pensaukee, January 1, 1886, he spent his entire life there where
he engaged in commercial fishing. Just two weeks ago he declared himself
a candidate for member of assembly of Oconto county on the Democratic ticket.
The body was taken to the Gallagher Funeral home, where it lay in state until services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday. Rev. R. Huget officiated and burial was in Brookside cemetery.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Bostedt and Mrs. Harvey Bishop, Oconto, Mrs. Phillip DonLevy, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Robert Bauman, (this is to read Bowman) Abrams; two sons, Gordon and Russell, Pensaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Mealy, Pensaukee and Mrs. Henry Swiedarke, Oconto; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His wife, the former Hazel Livermore, preceded him in death in 1934.
