Margaret Ruth McMahon Presl

An Irish Lass was called home on Saturday, June 16, 2001. Margaret Ruth Presl was born on July 13, 1936 in Marinette, WI to the late Byron and Gertrude (Brusso) McMahon. She married Robert Presl on January 15, 1955. Margaret worked for Schultz Bros., Oconto and the last twenty-five years as bailiff for Oconto County, retiring in January due to her illness.

Margaret's activities included Yaweh Choir, Oconto Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Girl Scout and Brownie Troop Leader, Library Aid, St. Joseph School, funeral dinner chairperson and past parish Council Member.

Margaret's greatest joys were times spent with her family, being very active and involved with her grandchildren and family get togethers. She also enjoyed her weekly bowling, watching sports and family card games around the kitchen table.

Survivors include her husband Robert E. Presl, Oconto; three daughters Linda (Thomas) Belongia; Karen (Allen) Lefevre; Kathryn (Aaron) Jarvey, all of Oconto; two sons Robert D. Presl, Oconto; Michael J. Presl, Appleton; seven grandchildren Heidi and Andrew Belongia; Benjamin, Hollie and Maggie Lefevre; Shane Presl; and Jakob Jarvey; three sisters Dorothy Wood, Peshtigo; Bernice Malvitz, Sturgeon Bay; Betty Lesandrini, Marinette; two brothers Joseph McMahon, Porterfield; Willard McMahon, Marinette. Margaret was preceded in death by a granddaughter, McKayla Jarvey; a brother, Edward McMahon; four sisters Rosie, Tootie, and two infant sisters. Friends may call at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Wake service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Parish with Rev. David C. Ruby officiating. Burial will be at Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
