Oconto Falls after a short illness.
She was born October 30, 1922 to the late Andrew and Mary Machurick. Mary had lived in Abrams all of her life. On January 15, 1949, she married Donald McDermid in Oconto. He preceded her in death December 6, 1990. Mary was a long time member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Abrams. She enjoyed watching her birds, watching baseball when Bob Wickman pitched, talking on the phone, writing in her diary and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Jim and Sue McDermid of Abrams; Chris and Peter Schenkoski of Abrams, Keith and Lynn McDermid of Green Bay; three grandchildren, Dana Schenkoski, Maggie and Mitchell McDermid; one sister, Margaret Brukardt of De Pere; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Deloris Machurick of Little Chute; one sister-in-law, Shirley Machurick; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; an infant daughter, Linda; a brother, Andrew Machurick; a brother-in-law, Otto. Friends called at St. Louis Catholic Church, Abrams after 9 a.m. Thursday. Funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21 at the church, Fr. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. officiating. Burial in Abrams-Stiles Catholic Cemetery. Marnocha Funeral Home assisted the family.
