Mrs. Mary Lawler, 79, pioneer of Couillardville, died at the home of her son Robert at Lena at 11:25 Saturday night of causes incidental to old age. The body was brought to the Gagnon funeral home at Oconto and later removed to the James Bell residence, Main Street. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 am at St. Josephs Catholic Church, the Rev. A. Pimeskern officiating. Interment was in the Oconto Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Lawler was born December 22, 1860, at Templecrow County, Wexford, Ireland, and for 54 years lived at Couillardville. During the last four years she made her home with her sons.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Dennis Johnson, town of Oconto; Mrs. James Herald, town of Oconto; Mrs. Wm. Campeau, Everett, Wash.; and Mrs. James Bell, Oconto; five sons, Murt, Ontonagon, Mich.; John, Milwaukee; William, Oconto Falls; Robert, Lena; and Harley, Two Rivers. There are also two brothers, William and Patrick Murray, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Powers, all in Ireland.
