Marilyn “Hazel” Baldwin

Marilyn “Hazel” Baldwin, 73, of Cecil passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Unity Hospice Residence, with her loving family at her side, after a valiant fight with leukemia. She was born January 20, 1940 in California, Pennsylvania to the late Dallas and Gertrude Martin. Hazel was raised in Grover and graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1958. She married Macklyn Baldwin January 30, 1960 in Stiles and they celebrated 53 years of marriage this year. She lived in Oconto Falls and Stiles before moving to Cecil. Hazel worked as an instructional aide for the Oconto Falls School District for 31 years. She loved time with her family, lunches with her friends, annual family vacations, road trips with Mack, cooking and fishing. Hazel was a loving and wonderful wife, mom, nanny and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered as a woman of great wit and for her warm and friendly personality. Hazel touched the lives of many especially the kids and teachers she worked with through the years. Her strength, faith and peace with God’s plan during this difficult time is inspirational and a comfort to her loved ones; She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband Mack; two daughters, Tamara Brown, Green Bay; Jackie (Rick) Stachowicz, Appleton; one son, Mike (Brenda) Baldwin, Oshkosh and son-in-law, Randy Heise, Lena; ten grandchildren whom she adored, Sophia Brown, Jon Wos, Dustin Wos, Nicole Stachowicz, Kim Fieck, Stacey Heise, Chad Heise, Whittney Baldwin, Morgan Baldwin and Drew Baldwin; three great grandchildren, Logan Fieck, Gaige Fieck, and Lucas Wos, one sister Sarah (Norman) Baldwin, Lena and one brother Dallas (Anne) Martin, Crivitz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Loren and Brenda Baldwin, Darwyn and Dee Baldwin, Joe and Carol Baldwin, Karla Baldwin, Wayne Trudell, Greg Meese, Vic Ausloos and Jerry Hart; She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends including life long, very special friends and vacation partners, Darold and Suzy Wieting. She was preceded in death by her daughter Connie Heise, September 22, 2010, her parents, Dallas and Gertrude Martin, in-laws, Mike and Helen Baldwin, sister, Dalene Hart, brother, Doug Martin, sisters-in-law, Linda Ausloos, Darlene Meese and Sandy Trudell. Friends and relatives may call at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto, Friday, August 30th from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. Visitation will continue Saturday at the funeral home from 9 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Funeral Services will be held at First American Lutheran Church, Oconto at 11 A.M. with Pastor Mary Zupansic officiating. She will be placed to rest at Abrams/Stiles Cemetery. “We would like to thank Dr. David Groteluschen and the staff of Green Bay Oncology, St. Mary’s Hospital, Unity Hospice and the Meng residence.
